SATHI IIT KHARAGPUR

The Sophisticated Analytical and Technical Help Institute (SATHI) at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is a state-of-the-art National Analytical Facility established with the financial support of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. The facility has been created to provide advanced analytical and characterization services to industries, academic institutions, MSMEs, startups, and research organizations across the country.

Located in the Nano-CRF-SATHI Building within IIT Kharagpur's Diamond Jubilee Complex, SATHI houses world-class analytical instruments that are among the most advanced and scarcely available in India. The facility currently includes the JEOL JEM ARM300F2 GRAND ARM High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscope (HRTEM), the PHI nanoTOF III Time-of-Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometer (ToF-SIMS), and the KAPPA 50 SS-CF Vacuum and Inert Gas Creep Testing System, enabling comprehensive characterization of a wide range of materials.

SATHI offers advanced characterization, testing, data generation, scientific analysis, and hands-on training across multiple disciplines, supporting research in materials science, nanotechnology, electronics, energy, biotechnology, and allied fields. The institute is also expanding its activities through consultancy services, collaborative research, and specialized technical support for academia and industry.

With a strong emphasis on efficiency, accessibility, transparency, and scientific excellence, SATHI provides a centralized platform for high-end analytical facilities under one roof. The institute is committed to strengthening India's research and innovation ecosystem by supporting industries, MSMEs, startups, and academic institutions, while contributing to the national vision of technological self-reliance and the Make in India initiative.
